Castelletto d'Orba and Montaldeo

This route will lead you to the discovery of Castello d’Orba and Montaldeo, two quaint villages in the hills of Alto Monferrato. Starting from the courtyard of The Montebello estate you will ride towards Silvano D’Orba to approach the first gentle climb that leads to the village of Castelletto d’Orba, famous for its fortress, built in the fifteenth century by the Marquis of Monferrato. Leaving the village behind, the route continues towards Montaldeo, a town of 245 inhabitants which was the scene of the battle between the Genoese Doria family and the Milanese Sforza family in the 16th Century. On the way back to the Montebello estate, you can enjoy some nice descents before ending this pleasant bike ride through the hills of Alto Monferrato.
